my weezie cat

Just wondering if anybody else has a cat that plays with dolls?

Every day since we moved the toys downstairs, Weezer braves the risk of GusGus to go paw through the tote of little dolls I have for the grandkids to play with and drags them into her own little space.  This isn't odd at all, right?

resolution update

You guys.  This year's resolution of mine is the best ever.

Spending time with people I love?  Perfect.

phew...finally it's friday

My prediction was correct.  This was a long, long, long week.  It had bright moments for sure, and now, look, it's the weekend.  We made it.

This weekend will include a visit with friends, a haircut, a sleepover with some grandkids, and a birthday party for this really adorable one-year-old.  And skiing.  Definitely skiing.

The weekend will be followed by a quick trip for work to Arizona to meet a new boss, and who can complain about an airplane trip up and out of the smog into a sunlit day, even if it's only for a day to a place that has no ocean?

Not me.  Seriously.  That wasn't a complaint.  Not at all.

slowly getting back into it

Back at work today after almost two and a half weeks off.  It was a glorious break, mostly.

Today was the slowest.day.ever.  And this week will likely continue to drag on.

The worst part though was the sudden stoppage of treats.  There were no candy dishes or cookie jars waiting for me to enjoy.

It was hard.  So hard.

the resolution

This year I resolve to spend time with the people I love.  Period.

Is it cheating on resolutions to decide to do that which makes you happy?  I think not.  Or if, somewhere in the big rule book of life, there is a rule that says resolutions must by definition be hard or uncomfortable or make us stretch or grow, then I say, throw out that rule book.

This year, I'm choosing to be with those I love as often as possible.  Family, friends, all of them.  All of you.  Life is too short, too fragile, too precious to miss opportunities to be with loved ones.

So.  That's my plan.  Big blocks of time, small moments.  I resolve to grasp at all of them as often as possible.

and then other times

Actually, most of the time, I think she just wants to take over the bed.
