just wondering

Do we only see in others that which we cannot see in ourselves? Or are we all composites that include a bit of everything but in varying quantities?

No, I definitely don't think we have everything...even in little bits. I think there's a lot we can gain by working, but there are some things we just don't have. For example, I always wanted to play the piano. I took lessons when I was about 19 and even rented a piano. I practiced and practiced and just did not even have a seed of talent.

Ask me to tell you sometime about the group piano class I took at the Community College. That was what convinced me that it just didn't have what it took.

I always seem to see in others qualities that I don't have. Some I've been able to learn, some not so much.

Interesting thoughts!

I think, for me, that what I see in others, if it trigger's an emotional response, it is something I look for in myself... is it something to admire, or something to abhor, or just something to think about? At any rate, I look to see if I need to "tweek" something in my own sculpture I'm creating of myself.

The world is a reflection, I have heard say very often, and sometimes we don't see that reflection in the mirror in ourselves... sometimes we see it all too clearly!
